Anxiety can be exhausting. From the racing thoughts, racing heart, chest tightness, constant worry, and more, it can feel like a full-time job.
When it seems like there’s no peace and your mind won’t stop, it may be time to seek support.
We’ve been where you are; we know what it’s like to have anxiety, and we also know how much work it takes to calm a racing heart and mind.
That’s why we use a compassionate approach with evidence-based therapy. We aren’t just therapists throwing theories at you; we are compassionate, caring therapists who’ve done the work ourselves.
1. Philippians 4:6–7 (NKJV)
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
This verse shows us that a shift in thinking can change everything. When we shift from anxiety to gratitude and give the anxiety to Him, we experience:
A normal heart rate
A calm mind
A restful state instead of fight-or-flight
Peace
2. 1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
This verse implies that we don’t have to carry the weight of the world. No matter what is going on in our world, whether on a big scale or at home, God is there to take that worry. He cares enough about us that He’ll take care of us, so we can live an abundant life.
3. John 14:27 (NKJV)
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
For so long, as Christians, we’ve pushed away anxiety or felt shame when we acknowledged the anxiety, but the Scripture points to anxiety being real. It also points out that we can exchange this anxiety for peace.
Counseling shows us how to:
Get peace with our thoughts (CBT)
Meditate to bring peace (DBT)
Let the anxiety go as if it were on a cloud (ACT)
All of these points lead back to Jesus as being our Peace, by using practical calming strategies that reinforce who He is!
4. Proverbs 12:25 (NKJV)
“Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.”
Anxiety can burden the heart—mentally and physically. A lot of people describe anxiety as chest tightness, racing thoughts, muscle fatigue, and headaches. This Scripture shows us how kind-hearted words can change our mindset and our disposition.
In therapy, this kind-heartedness can look like:
Validation
Compassion
Skills you can use in everyday life
Help without judgment
Sometimes, healing begins just by being kind.
Faith and Anxiety Therapy in Pensacola, FL
We want to honor your faith when you see a therapist because it is so important to talk about Biblical principles and how they apply to our minds. The world is full of chaos, which can cause anxiety, so we want to make sure that we are aligning Scripture with our state of mind.
Faith-Based anxiety therapy looks like:
Combining Scripture with CBT (reframing thoughts with Biblical Principles)
Combining Scripture with DBT (Contributing to someone else, or getting a different emotion through joyful Scriptures)
Combining Scripture with ACT (Accepting that we cannot change God’s Plan, and accepting that He knows best)
Whether you’re new to therapy or have had experiences in the past that were not desirable, we are here to combine evidence-based approaches with faith, so we can heal spiritually and emotionally.

Scripture and prayer are the best supports for anxiety; however, when you feel that you don’t know how to apply the Scriptures, or you need someone to talk things through, it may be time to seek therapy.
